Embedded Software Development Engineer

Job Summary:

Will work for Project Leader for Speech Enabled Products (definition, implementation, test, maintenance and evolutions). Will develop and enhance embedded firmware running under RTOS using mainly C++. Will contribute to defining and implementing a system scalability strategy.

Job Requirements/ Education:

· Experience with Real Time Operating System (Nucleus is a plus)
· Strong C++ programming skills
· Good knowledge of PowerPC architecture (8260 or 8272) and development tools
· Write programs in PPC assembly language
· Strong problem solving/analytical skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with customers
· Good knowledge of PSTN, VoIP networks and call control a plus
· Adhere to ISO and best engineering practices
· Development of design documentation, project plans and schedules for assigned work
· Contribute to the development of system test plans and the creation of code to test developed functionality
· Work with product testing, API, device driver and hardware development staff as required to design, review, debug and deliver required functionality on schedule
· Control developed source code and product through the use of appropriate tools with release engineering
· Maintain an archive/library of developed code for reuse as appropriate

Education:

BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Four to five years of experience developing software for real time applications.
