Software Test Engineer

Summary of duties and responsibilities:
This is an exciting Software QA position that focuses on validating state of the art telephony products (VOIP, PSTN, embedded and host-based). The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a strong interest in Software Quality Assurance. Primary responsibilities include test design, coding, debug, setup, execution, and results analysis. The focus is on our SDK/API, but we cover specific hardware and user documentation as well. The candidate must be a team player determined to expose critical product flaws during test development and execution cycles. The candidate must also have the ability to follow up on quality issues until they are resolved. The position includes initiative to work close with other members of the product team (development, support, etc.), while driving critical parts of the work towards timely completion.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Note: The four key areas for successfully securing this position are: C++, Telephony, QA and SDK/API experience.):
· Understand and analyze product requirements to derive effective tests strategies.
· Design and develop automated tests using the C/C++ language (console or MFC-based).
· Set up, execute, and analyze results as needed (as releases flow through QA).
· Create test plans, test cases and test procedures for manual tests when needed.
· Light PC administration that includes installing software and hardware on lab systems as needed for test executions.
· Work with defect tracking and source control management tools.
· Strong problem solving, analytical and debugging skills.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact well with everyone.
· Must be well organized and detail oriented.
